Dana Smith joined Peabody Properties in 2016. An accomplished, results-driven executive, he currently serves as Vice-President of Human Resources.
Dana is providing the overall strategic human resource leadership to the company and its workforce of 425+ employees. His focus and responsibilities include implementing strategies for employee engagement, policies and procedures development, education and career path development, performance management, benefits administration, employee relations, and the recruitment, hiring and retention of top talent. He fosters, at all times, a workplace environment that is empowering, inclusive and supportive, consistent with the company’s vision, mission and values. He is passionate about building collaborative teams with a dedicated focus on encouraging communication and building a culture where employees are excited about the work they do, and committed to giving back to their local communities.
Dana’s career in human resources spans 20+ years, beginning at Providence Energy Corporation where he developed his expertise in human resources while simultaneously working in the business finance arena of acquisition transactions. His career path led him to the Barnes Group, Inc., Bristol, Connecticut, where he focused on performance management, leadership, talent development, diversity and recruitment and retention. Following a brief time with Invensys MARCAM as Global HR Manager, Dana honed his considerable HR skills with Tyco Simplex Grinnell, the largest commercial/industrial life safety and security business in North America.
