LAKEVILLE — The Fairways, the apartment complex at the Residences at LeBaron Hills, an affordable housing complex, is now accepting applications.

A lottery will be held under the provisions of the state's affordable housing law to select successful applicants from among those who are qualified.

"The Fairways, Lakeville's newest apartment community, is expected to be a tremendous boost to LeBaron Hills," said Karen Fish-Will of Peabody Properties, Inc, marketing and management agent for the project.

"While providing new affordable housing to persons 55 and older, it will also be a great asset to the town.

"The development helps to further enhance the quiet country community of duplex homes and brings new life to the project at a time when most construction sites have come to a stand-still," she said.

"We are happy that the developer stayed the course to complete this new addition to the community."

The Fairway's 56 units are all one-bedroom with over 600 square feet of living space. Amenities include fully equipped kitchen, dining area, bath and spacious living room. This two-story building features a attractive community room overlooking the courtyard, where other recreational amenities are planned. Resident parking is available within close proximity to the building.

The breakdown of units consist of 14 one-bedroom with rents restricted to 30 percent of the area median income and 42 one-bedroom with rents restricted to 60 percent of the area median income. Heat is included in the rent and occupancy is restricted to persons 55 and older. Rent is subject to adjustments based on HUD income limits and utilities allowance.

"We have had an overwhelming response to the request for applications, said Ms. Fish-Will, "and we urge anyone still interested in applying to do so right away."
