Hearth Anna Bissonnette House

Located at the intersection of Washington and East Concord Streets in Boston’s South End, Anna Bissonnette House (ABH) opened in 1997 to provide permanent supportive housing to low income and formerly homeless elders.

Originally the Aerated Bread Company factory, the site was beautifully renovated and decorated to provide 22 studio and 18 one-bedroom apartment homes. There are separate community gathering spaces on each floor and in addition to the Shapiro Community Room in the lobby, residents can enjoy a roof-top deck and large patio.

Hearth’s staff and volunteers support the resident service needs of the community as well as resident activities.
