Market Mill Apartments Residents Recognized for Artistic Contributions

Four young residents of Market Mill Apartments – a 230-unit residential community located on Market Street in Lowell and managed by full-service real estate firm, Peabody Properties, Inc. – were recently recognized for their contributions to the 2015 MassHousing Calendar Contest. Six-year-old Jacksliomys Padilla was named a first place winner, seven-year-old Jeraldine Morales and eight-year-old Ester Garcia were named second place winners and five-year-old Esmeralda Colon was recognized as a third place winner. The artwork of each resident will be featured in the 2015 calendar.

Each year, MassHousing – a not-for-profit, public agency providing more than $16 billion in financing for buyers, owners and developers of affordable rental housing – facilitates the calendar contest to provide youth residents with an opportunity for creative expression and the chance to have their artwork published in MassHousing’s annual calendar. The theme of this year’s Calendar Contest was “My Peaceful Home” and more than 100 contributions were submitted from residents throughout the Commonwealth.

According to Market Mill Apartments Property Manager, Sandy Souza, the MassHousing Calendar Contest has become a beloved tradition, which the children at the property look forward to each year. “Once again, the MassHousing Calendar Contest has proved to be a positive experience for our youth residents,” said Souza. “We’re very proud of Jacksliomys, Jeraldine, Ester and Esmeralda for their accomplishments this year.”
