Local Youth Residents Receive New Backpacks, School SuppliesÂ
For the tenth year, youth residents of Mishawum Park – a 337-unit residential community located on Main Street in Charlestown– recently received new backpacks as a part of the Mishawum Park Tenants Association Backpack Program in collaboration with Peabody Properties, Inc.
More than 65 young residents, ages 5-12, were given backpacks filled with school supplies that included notebooks, rulers, pencils, binders, folders and snacks, among other things.
According to Kelly Tucker, Chair of the Mishawum Park Tenants Association, the Backpack Program is a great way to give back to community residents. “The program helps ensure that all of our young residents go to school with the supplies they need to help them succeed academically,” said Tucker. “We look forward to continuing this program for years to come.”
