This summer, youth residents of Mishawum Park – a 337-unit residential community in Charlestown managed by full-service real estate firm Peabody Properties, Inc. – had the opportunity to participate in a fun and interactive summer program hosted at the property.
For seven consecutive weeks, Knucklebones – a Somerville-based wellness company bringing fun and fulfilling athletic programs to nearby communities – engaged the children of Mishawum Park in hours of fun-filled, action-packed activities, promoting exercise and healthy choices. The program was made possible through a grant provided to Mishawum Park by the Boston Center for Youth and Families. Sixteen children, ages four through eight, were able to participate in an array of sports and interactive games, including basketball, castle ball and wheel steal.
According to Kelly Tucker, Chairperson of the Mishawum Park Tenants Association, the program was a wonderful way for the children in the community to strengthen friendships and remain active during the summer months. “Knucklebones provided a great opportunity for our young residents to play together, enjoy exercising and help each other while having fun,” said Tucker.
