Did You Know?

In the United States approximately 57,849 Veterans are homeless on any given night and another 1.2 million Veterans are at-risk of homelessness due to poverty, lack of family and social support networks.

According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

Peabody Properties was designated by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to create four (4) permanent supportive housing developments under the VAMC Enhanced Use Lease Initiative. Pleasant Street Apartments – Beverly, Massachusetts was our first permanent housing community dedicated solely for formerly homeless Veterans. This was followed up with the first nationwide “on-campus” site of permanent housing solely for formerly homeless Veterans, Valley Brook Village in Basking Ridge, NJ and subsequently Bedford Green – Bedford, MA and Howard House – Brockton, MA.

These projects are excellent examples of the private sector, non-profit and government sector coming together to fix a societal problem successfully, namely permanent affordable housing for homeless Veterans.
