
Dana Smith Joins the Massachusetts-based Full Service Real Estate Firm
Warwick, RI (May 19, 2016) – Full-service real estate management firm, Peabody Properties, Inc., today announced that Warwick, Rhode Island resident Dana Smith has joined the firm as Vice President of Human Resources.
In his new role, Smith will provide overall human resource support to the company and its more than 425 employees. His focus and responsibilities will include implementing strategies for employee engagement and relations, policy, procedure, education and career path development, performance management, benefits administration, recruitment, hiring and retention. Certified in a number of human resources disciplines, Smith is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and World at Work and a participant in Ashoka’s Youth Venture.
Prior to joining Peabody Properties, Smith served as the Vice President of Human Resources at TYCO SimplexGrinnell where he was responsible for strategy development, talent acquisition, employee development, labor relations, performance management and various change management and restructuring activities. Earlier in his career, Smith held human resources positions at Providence Energy Corporation, Barnes Group, Inc. and Invensys MARCAM.
According to Melissa Fish-Crane, Principal and Chief Operating Officer for Peabody Properties, Smith is providing the company’s overall strategic HR leadership, consistent with its vision, mission and values. “He brings an impressive combination of knowledge and experience which will foster a culture of engagement and attract top talent to support our rapid growth. Smith lives in Warwick, Rhode Island with his wife Mary, daughter Ashley, 14, and son Matthew, 16. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Providence College.
